Primary Responsibilities:
At Global, you will not spend your summer fetching coffee or lunch for employees. This internship is your opportunity to dive into the specialty food industry and gain hands-on experience with both domestic and international sales teams. In this paid role, you’ll follow a detailed plan to complete a meaningful summer project that directly supports our sales departments. As part of the program, you’ll attend trade shows within the Chicagoland area, engage with our business leaders, and develop valuable industry insights. Your responsibilities will include in-person market research, creating marketing materials, connecting with retailer and vendor partners, and presenting your project findings to the entire Global team.
Internship Overview:
This internship will follow the development of the candidate in each of the following parts of our business and industry.
- Marketing Development
- Understanding of the USA Food Market
- Understanding of the International Market
- How Global Helps Support Account Management
- Sales Operations Development
- Procurement Development
- Financial Development & Understanding
- HR/CSR Development
Qualifications / Additional Skills /Aptitude:
- Strong Microsoft Office data skills especially, Excel (Formulas, Pivot Tables, etc.)
- A high school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required.
- College Degree in progress as a Junior or Senior or recently graduated with a major in Business, Marketing, or other relevant degrees.
- A minimum of one (1) year of Customer Service or Sales experience is required.
- Excellent customer service, grammar, verbal and writing skills.
- Resourceful, results-oriented, and well-organized.
- Comfortable performing multi-faceted tasks and projects in conjunction with day-to-day activities with minimal supervision.
- Strong interpersonal skills, ability to get along with diverse personalities, tactful, and flexible with both internal and external customers.
- Be decisive and able to recognize and support the organization’s preferences and priorities.
- Functions well in a team environment.
- Ability to be in-office in Naperville, IL during the workweek
